Description
The Ottewell Terrace project is a four-storey, non-combustible structure with a total area of 6,000 square metres (64,583 square feet). The building consists of 55 senior apartment units, complete with an underground parkade and an attached daycare facility. This building is connected by a link to the existing Ottewell Place Seniors Lodge. The Greater Edmonton Foundation provides affordable seniors’ housing across Edmonton in 30 buildings. Their commitment is to provide affordable, dignified, and environmentally conscious housing.
This project received the 2016 Homeward Trust Award recognizing Outstanding Organizations & People in Housing (ROOPH), which recognizes both the design of the building and the partnership between GEF Seniors Housing and Primrose Place Family Centre. The building provides affordable housing for seniors where both children and seniors are together under one roof, inviting a unique, reciprocal, and shared experience for all.
