Description
The East Wheatland K-12 School, now known as the Wheatland Crossing School, is a 4,881 SM (52,539 SF) single storey school incorporating a mechanical Room on the mezzanine floor. This unique school is situated relatively equidistant from the four communities that it serves, Standard, Hussar, Rockyford and Gleichen, in the middle of the prairies. Surrounded by wheatfields, the design included a storm retention pond that will act as a teaching facility for biology and agricultural studies. The school has a large gymnasium, two science classrooms, CTS classroom, drama multipurpose classrooms. Eight portable classrooms round out the design to allow for either growth or a reduction in students.
