Description
The new Donald R. Getty School is a 2 storey K-9 School located in the Chappelle area of Edmonton. It is a 82,324 square foot facility with the capacity to house 900 students. Features of the school include a large open learning commons, which can be used for the afterhours community meetings, 2 Gymnasiums and several specialty classrooms for special needs inclusion. The school was constructed using steel structure with steel stud infill along with traditional concrete masonry units. Don Getty School targeted and achieved LEED Silver status and has become a cornerstone of this new Edmonton community.
